The AGII product sizer, patent pending, is designed to handle a multitude of products with minor design changes in spindle profile. Product capacities are predicated on belt speed and product density piece count. For potatoes, the large unit can efficiently size up to 100 ton/hr with a 97% accuracy.
How the sizer works:
This AGII Sizer works on a handful of fundamentals. One, the dynamic rollers rotate to allow product to tumble within a pocket to measure virtually all sides, allowing undersize product to drop. Two, by feeding product, such that it is allowed to accumulate up to three pieces deep. It allows the additional weight (force) of the product on top to push those items on the cusp of the required sizing to push through the sizer. Third, the ski design raises the product over a ¼” (based on pitch diameter) to generate more potential energy in the product then release the kinetic energy to provide additional force to size those products which are on the margin of pass/no pass. Finally, star finger wheels have been added to the head roll shaft to push out any product that has traveled through the length of the belt and did not drop to the undersize path. This star wheel prevents any product from “popping” within the radius of the head roll.
